Dateline Tucson - On Sunday, June 11th, 2006, the Territorial Troupers manned the telephones during a Public Broadcasting Service fund raising telethon. The event was held in Studio B of KUAT TV at the University of Arizona. Members thoroughly enjoyed themselves as they accepted pledges from television viewers. During a break the Troupers were treated to a guided tour of the television station.

Membership support is vital to KUAT's ability to provide the very finest in non-commercial programming. Viewer support is the single largest source of funding. It's an investment that benefits everyone in the community. Thirty million people tune in each week to local, independent public stations. Public radio and TV play a critical role in providing news, information, culture and diversity. It is a key role in strengthening our democracy. The KUAT staff was so impressed with the Troupers that Ginny Stiller, the Coordinator of Volunteers, invited the group to participate in a live broadcast next September. Members are looking forward to the event.
