The Territorial Troupers are proud to support TROT which enriches the lives of people with special needs by using therapeutic, equine programs to:

* Improve physical, mental, social and emotional well-being

* Promote disability-awareness while recognizing each individual's abilities and involvement with family, friends and community

* Provide educational, recreational and vocational opportunities

* Provide direct therapy services by licensed medical professionals

Riders and Participants experience fun-filled therapeutic exercise and empowering freedom of movement in a rich sensory environment. Improvements in balance, strength and coordination result in increased mobility, independence and overall function. Children and adults with cerebral palsy, mental retardation, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, emotional disabilities, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, hearing/vision impairments, autism and other special needs can all benefit from equine programs.

Volunteers are the critical key to the continued success of the TROT mission. Each volunteer is trained to work directly with participants. Volunteers give moral and physical support to riders and enjoy the personal satisfaction of seeing each individual's progress from week to week. Other volunteers help with fund raising, grounds maintenance and care of the horses.
